Cinder Hill Farm

Cinder Hill Farm

Carol and Malc would like to welcome you to Cinder Hill Farm, a working farm sitting in the heart of Leicestershire in the National Forest.

Our ¾ acre grass site is fully enclosed with easy access off the main A512 road running between Ashby de la Zouch and Loughborough. The site sits away from the road in a valley with lovely views over surrounding fields. Our farm contains the site of the old Charnwood Forest Canal Bed and a couple of marked footpaths enable walking from the site. Sunrise and sunset can be a wonderful sight and we have a picnic table set up for you to enjoy a morning coffee or evening tipple.
Thringstone is a short walk away where you can find a Stonehurst Carvery Pub, The Bulls Head and an independent pub, The George and Dragon just across the road serving food, drink and with bouncy castles for younger ones. There is a Co-op on the village green along with an award winning fish and chip shop and a One Stop Shop and Post Office around the corner.

We sell seasonal farm grown produce including sunflowers, tulips, daffodils, potatoes, tomatoes, beans, courgettes, pumpkins and squashes. We do not use chemicals on our produce. Our free range hens produce eggs for sale daily. We also stock kindling, logs and have plants, pots and hanging baskets and some basic essentials for sale.

Osgathorpe has a recently reopened pub The New Storey (Friday – Sunday only) which host events and entertainment as well as pop up food vans. Onwards from Osgathorpe towards Breedon on the Hill and you can join up with the Cloud Hill Trail for walking or cycling and also the Sustrans National Cycle Networks Trails numbers 6, 15 and 52.

The area is rich with places to go and things to do to satisfy a variety of interests including the ruins of Grace Dieu Priory and Gracedieu Woods, Charnwood Forest Area including Beacon Hill and Bradgate Park, and in the other direction Conkers and the National Forest. There are a couple of National Trust properties nearby including Calke Abbey and Stoneywell. Great Central Railway, the Battlefield Line and Statfold Barn Steam Railways are also close. Donington Park is a short drive away as is East Midlands Airport, but we are not bothered by noise from either.
We are not currently offering electric hook up or toilet and shower facilities. We request that dogs are kept on leads due to free ranging chickens. Our water runs on a meter so we request that you keep water use to a minimum and please don’t attach a hose to our tap.

Whether you are looking for a break away in a rural setting with plenty of peace and quiet and wildlife, or looking for more adventurous things to do, or even a stopping off point on a longer journey or visiting friends or family in the area then we could be the place for you. Why not give us a try?
